Research/Teaching: His teaching and research interest include; Civil Engineering, Water resources system planning & Management, Environmental engineering, Hydropower Technology & Management, Irrigation & Drainage, operation research, Flood control & Hydrological Studies and application of ICT in water resources / supply management.

Wahab Adebayo SALAMI, is a professor at the Department of Water Resources & Environmental Engineering, Faculty of Engineering and Technology, University of Ilorin, Nigeria. He joined the services of the University as an Assistant Lecturer in August 2000. He holds a PhD degree in Civil Engineering in 2007 and became professor in 2017. He was a visiting scholar at New York State University, Buffalo and North Carolina State University, Raleigh, USA under Fulbright Scholarship (Jun 2006 – May 2007) with the IIE Grantee ID: 15064438. He served as the Principal Investigator (PI) in a National research titled “Development of a resilient water supply infrastructural ICT Model for effective service delivery in Nigeria” sponsored by TETFUND with grant ID No. (TETF/DR & D –CE/NRF/2020/SETI), (2020-2024). He has served as the Sub-Dean Faculty of Engineering & Technology (2010-2012); Faculty of Engineering Representative at University Senate (2010–2012);, Regional Coordinator, National Water Resources Capacity Building Networks, NWRCBNet-NC (2012–2015); Ag. Head of Department of Civil Engineering (2013/2014-2014/2015) and Director National Centre for Hydropower Research and Development, (NACHRED), Energy Commission of Nigeria (ECN) (Feb. 2019-Jan.2024). He is a corporate member, Nigerian society of Engineers MNSE, COREN Registered, and a member of many other professional bodies within and outside Nigeria.

He has published over one hundred (100) articles in reputable journals including chapters in books and attended many Conferences. He has successfully supervised 3 PhD students with 2 on going; more than 30 masters and many undergraduate students. He has served as external examiner for undergraduate and postgraduate and also assessed more than 10 professorial documents. At the international level He has examined postgraduate thesis at some universities in South Africa and also served in the panel for the award of Ph..D at WASCAL GRP on climate change and water resources, University of Abomey-Calavi, Benin Republic.
